Preventive Services

We offer a wide variety of preventive services including teeth cleaning, nonsurgical periodontal therapies, fluoride treatments, sealants, night guards, sports guards, and snore guards.  Please let your dentist or hygienist know if you think you may benefit from any of these services.

Teeth Cleaning

A healthy mouth is essential to your overall state of physical health.  Regular dental cleanings are a preventive service to help deter gum disease as well as cavities, not to mention to keep those pearly whites looking their best!  We offer the following dental hygiene services:

  • Prophylaxis
  • Periodontal Maintenance
  • Scaling and Root Planing
  • Fluoride Treatments

Sealants

Sealants are thin coatings applied to the grooves of permanent molars to help prevent decay.  These are typically placed after the 6 year molars have completely erupted, and again for the 12 year molars, and as needed after that.

Night Guards

Night Guards serve to protect the teeth from chipping and breaking when a person clenches or grinds their teeth at night.  Ours are made of hard acrylic and snap in place for maximum night time comfort.

Sports Guards

Sports Guards protect the teeth from trauma and injury.  High risk sports include football, basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball, and softball.  Custom sports guards are not only better fitted to the teeth than over-the-counter options,  but can also be made in your team colors or color of preference.

Snore Guards / TAP devices

TAP appliances are an alternative for patients with sleep apnea but those who cannot tolerate a CPAP machine.  These consist of an upper and lower arch appliance that helps slide the jaw forward to open the airway at night.
